Smart people overthink, causing them to question things and be stubborn. Maybe they don't want to be directors at a big corporation because they hate bureaucracy. Smart people are also more in tune with the reality of life and view the world in a more negative way. My belief is that less intelligent people are more successful because they aren't stuck in their head all the time evaluating things, self reflecting, etc. Just my opinion.
