@jimohhafeezco Unless you're admitting that your faith is antithetical to humanity and civility. Otherwise, there is no basis for such comparison to start with. One's allegiance to a faith should not diminish the human identity.
@jimohhafeezco Stay within the remit of your faith & stop projecting your ignorance of the scripture. They're not the same: one is devotion, the other is patriotism. If anything, we're enjoined to submit to authorities, respect and honour institutions. Afterall, all things were created by Him!
@omoiyaolobi001 You mean the same family that was not there for him, and only showed up because fortune smiled on him. Do you think if it was just Sodiq that converted to Tolu and nothing else, they will care?
Nonsense!
@emmanueldanjum1@israeliswrite@ozioma88 It is the ministry of reconciliation we have been given, not of condemnation. That statement is not what will bring salvation to them...selah!
When we suppose to be talking about how to transform Nigeria from within, outside the script of our politicans, through shared dreams, ideologies, and reengineering, we are debating gèlè and ichafu...
May we see the light.
@Wizarab10 How random can it be that you reconnected at the university; the same one you got admission to? What are the chances that yoy started flourishing after meeting her? No worries, that thing you are looking for, you will find it. That gem you have in your hand is in the 0.001%
A semblance of what I was saying yesterday.
Nigeria has not solved ONE national problem since independence. Not one. This video confirms it, alongside campaign posters and videos from the 80s, despite billions of dollars spent in budgetary allocations.
Why?
We lack systems-thinking. Zero cause and effect analysis.
People we consider intelligent are telling us that to improve the quality of our universities, we need to increase the school fees. People with PhD are advising that to improve literacy rates, we should build more classrooms and buy 21st century gadgets. Experts are telling us that solar power energy is a better investment, just be ready to spend N25-30m in a country where the minimum wage is N70,000. Politicians are telling us they need more taxes to improve the country.
But, look closely at instances where fees were increased or taxes imposed, has life EVER gotten better there? Every time your school fees got increased in the past, did you experience a better life as a student? Well, you will not. And it’s simple - we don’t have the mental capacity to solve problems. We also bypass problems and hope the problem fades away.
Simply put, we are clowns!
..status and place you in a payment category. Those with the means should cover the full cost of their education, even in public institutions. But for this to work, the system much be able to transparently assess every family's financial capacity without compromise. This, in ...
2 ways I think this can be addressed in Nigeria is;
1. Decommodify university education: not everyone should get a degree; the education should be reformed to ensure focused technical learning and competence in lower levels post-secondary education.
N1 million per student per year is the honest price of a functional Nigerian public university in 2026. The subsidy that has kept it lower for a decade is why the library ceiling still leaks. Say the number, then price the scholarships to close the gap for the students who need
