Hacer transacciones en un sistema centralizado es relativamente fácil. El problema viene cuando empiezas a lidiar con sus errores de Deadlock. Si eso ya parece complicado, en sistemas distribuidos esto se complica exponencialmente. Y, a problemas complejos, soluciones con las que puedes llegar a tener pesadillas. 2 de las soluciones más comunes son: ◆ Two-phase commit (2PC) ◆ Sagas Si has trabajado utilizándolas, seguramente sigas con esas pesadillas. Ambas introducen un single point of failure y una complejidad elevada: Two-phase commit Con 2PC tendrás abiertas transacciones en diferentes bases de datos. En diferentes puede ser perfectamente en 10 o incluso más. Se puede convertir en la fiesta del Deadlock. Sagas Por cada caso de uso, harás otro que sea el compensatorio. Si tengo un caso de registrar un usuario, también tendré el de borrarlo. Además del nuevo sistema que me coordine toda la saga. Pero hay una solución más simple que aplica a la mayoría de casos: Las Sagas Implícitas. Con este tipo de sagas, si ya tienes un sistema con Eventos de Dominio, simplemente has de modelar como Eventos casos que seguramente antes hacías el Rollback de la transacción. Esto no quiere decir que las Sagas Implícitas sean la mejor de las soluciones. Hay contextos donde 2PC o las explícitas van a funcionar mejor. Pero en la mayoría de casos, las Sagas Implícitas son más sencillas de crear, mantener y tener en producción. También hay otra solución, Try-Confirm-Cancel (TCC), pero esa la dejamos para otro post.
