GM Web3 gaming is the hottest narrative of the coming cycle. We've spent 2 years non-stop building around this. But why is gaming taking off in web3? Despite all the marketing bs that plagues this space, actual crypto adoption boils down to 3 verticals: 1. Trading shitcoins (DeFi) 2. Trading Jpegs (NFTs) 3. Having fun with on-chain assets (GameFi) In previous cycles we've witnessed a plethora of projects try to solve real world problems using web3. But still, web2 solutions reign triumphant due to technological hurdles and asset volatility. Blockchain tech is bringing about the next industrial revolution but it's still just so early. Gaming is actually one of the simplest ways to give utility to on-chain assets right now. Put your NFTs into games/metaverses, give utility to your shitcoins and ultimately have fun with blockchains. Why the fuck did I get into it? I've been chilling with my degens on telegram for years. 2 years ago we decided to create some NFTs and give them away just for fun. 3 days later we launched Moonsama.com, an NFT marketplace and airdropped pixelated birds. "Wow cool we've got jpegs in our wallets, now what?". Wouldn't it be fun if we could actually use them in-game and smash each other? @KyilkhorSama the chad decides to write the multiverse portal litepaper and build it out (moonsama.gitbook.io/moonsama/multi…) and we got our NFTs into action. The first day we tested it, 100's of us spent over 4 hours waiting around until we got the first session running. It was MAGICAL. In all my years I've never had as much fun in gaming as I did that day watching everyone run around as their NFTs killing each other. What happened next It was infectious, it quickly became the hottest gaming experience within the $DOT @Polkadot ecosystem. We just kept on building. Our portal became our most important piece of tech, allowing us to give bi-directional utility to assets on any integrated blockchain to any connect game/metaverse. moonsama.com/multiverse-por… We built tech to allow us to customize our NFTs and equip them with new clothing/accessories/weapons. This NFT 2.0 stuff was really fun. moonsama.com/moonsama-compo… We built a sick NFT marketplace Raresama.com to help our community build their own shit and have a place for all our game-related assets. Our OG pixelated birds got huge upgrades with artwork from artists who worked on Magic the Gathering and Hearthstone. x.com/MoonsamaNFT/st… That 1,000 OG NFT collection became too restrictive with the expanding player base so we unleashed our 10,000 Waifus to complement the eco. opensea.io/collection/exo… One day we woke up and fancied some fishing and we pushed out pondsama.com and got to even battle using our NFT fish in Telegram. Then we used to fish poop to fuel the gas ( $SAMA ) on our own layer 1 blockchain explorer.exosama.com which has 15,000+ users and over 1 million transactions. We even had one of the biggest fashion brands in the world DIESEL mint NFTs on our chain. This is all the tip of the iceberg, so much more was built. And we've been having fun along the way. But what comes next? What comes next is a motherfucking warpath. The past 2 years has been a huge learning experience, we had huge successes and we've even made mistakes we've learnt from. Over the past 7 weeks we've made a lot of internal changes on the team/community/ecosystem side. After surviving the bear, we're battle-hardened and stronger than ever before. We go back to our roots and focus on the community. That's how it all started, and that's what made us a success in the first place. Via governance we've established which products will be our focus and we've trimmed off the fat. Everything has been built with a multi-chain focus, as you saw yesterday we're expanding out to other chains and ecosystems. Bringing with us the cool new stuff we've been building these past months. The bear was for building and now it's time to ship. We have built the foundation of what's needed for a successful ecosystem (multiverse substrate/marketplace/NFT customizer/metaverse etc). Now we focus on the products, the games and applications built on top of the tech. They're all lined up and we will bring the chaos to web3 gaming.
