The Ukraine bill is out and available to read. I'm looking through now for differences from the Senate supplemental. Link: punchbowl.news/ukraine-fundin… One that immediately jumps out is the requirement to transfer long-range ATACMS "as soon as practicable."
To be clear on ATACMS, it's positive that this pushes the White House to transfer them, but it seemingly gives the president an out if he determines it would be "detrimental to the national security interests of the United States."
@DougKlain WAY less for ukraine. This bill gives the same military aid as Netherlands has.
@DougKlain @CoffeeJolted ⏫ Legislation of weapons to force Biden to do something.
@DougKlain Historically the US aided UK with Lend-lease, but this feels far weaker than that. We must stand strongly and bravely with Ukraine. The world is watching.
@DougKlain "achieving victory" is really what stands out. Do republicans actually mean this?
