Great two days looking for peat sites in the Walpole Nornalup Wilderness to do hydrological scienc. @Science_DBCA, UWA's Greg Skrzypek, Jim McCallum, Holy Winkle and @DrDavid_Edmonds @LizJEdmonds.
4 months after prescribed fire the bush is looking nice and green. Closer inspection reveals a large number of Jarrah and Balga deaths. Surviving Jarrah show significant canopy loss (many metres of height), heavy epicormic and lignotuber sprouts. Decades for full recovery.
Found masses of flowers in this Pitcher Plant, Cephalotus follicularis. The flower spikes on this one relatively short due to lack of competition from surrounding vegetation. #walpolewilderness
