✴️ why Haiti? 1️⃣ Haiti has long been the target of international exploitation. Systemic global racism at it’s finest. Haiti became the first black nation to be free from slavery and in the process be an independent country.
And that didn’t sit well with the international community as we were deemed to be a BAD influence for global powers. “Now everyone will want to be free”
✴️ why Haiti? 2️⃣ everyone thinks they know what’s best for Haiti, nevertheless not a single one of the many international interventions in Haiti has yielded anything good. i.e what happen to the donations to haiti’s earthquake relief in 2010.
✴️ Haiti is not cursed. It’s targeted. My family moved to Haiti from Syria many years ago, I was born and grew there and I am who am I because of Haiti, therefore, I have an obligation towards my country to speak the truth.
#Haitiearthquake2021 🇭🇹 The country needs help and I ask this of myself and everyone who is reading this, if you are thinking of donating your time or anything else to a non-profit or other entities, please consider helping Haiti to help Haiti.
I have been directly and indirectly involved with @Medishare4Haiti and Hospital Bernard Mevs. They have been on the ground for many years and have been the most reliable entity to provide help even all the dust settles from international non-profit organizations.
Please consider donating gofund.me/6a71ff8a.
