Fuck Jane Campion and fuck everyone who laughed at her comment about Venus and Serena. There is literally nothing funny about a old white woman raising herself & her accomplishments up by stepping on black women & their accomplishments

Venus is turned away from Jane Campion who has physically draped herself all over Venus. This is gross and adds more injury to insult & injury. I'm so disgusted that Jane Karempion pissed all over Venus & Serena's evening of glory.

That clip of Jane Campion should be used in anti-racism spaces as an example of what daily racism looks like.

The last thing I'll say about Jane Campion's dig at Venus & Serena Williams is that it reveals a common mentality- that whatever Black people (especially women) have accomplished comes with an asterisk. They can't resist the opportunity to take a Black person down a peg.

@JB608Madison @jemelehill If you ask this question, then you don’t understand the real issue. And its not your fault! Being able to say “I’m human” is a luxury afforded the white majority. The same majority that took painstaking effort over 400 years to construct the racial identity system.

Write this down. Mike Pence wouldn't have spoken out against Trump today unless he knows FOR CERTAIN Trump's in a world of trouble.

If it’s true that Biden’s top choice is Judge Kentanji Brown Jackson, you’ll see she is far more qualified than Barrett, but she’s the one already being saddled with narratives that she isn’t qualified nytimes.com/2022/01/26/us/…

The core of white supremacy relies on the narrative that white people deserve powerful positions because they’re just better. Meanwhile, black folks, who often have to work much harder to overcome systemic barriers, are always considered undeserving.

@jemelehill @KaliGrossPhD Would also like to remind everyone that Amy COVID Barrett wasn't even able or willing to articulate her legal perspective on crucial issues. This moving goalpost for Black folks isn't new, but it is as annoying as it is ridiculous.

Biden’s pledge to nominate a black woman to the SC has predictably become a debate about qualifications. Reminder: Amy Coney Barrett had never been a judge before Trump fast-tracked her on the appeals court in 2017, never tried a case to verdict or argued an appeal in court.
