I think Oakland is the best place for the A’s! It’s impossible to get anything done with the group thats overseeing our city🙄 I think it’s water under the bridge at this point. Make a deal to extend the lease. Keep people employed and put some money back into the city of Oakland

Not sure why people want to pit you/Rickey against fans regarding this saga. And for anyone to ever suggest you both would not want the A’s in Oakland is silly. And it’s well documented why you have your thoughts on them with your involvement with them over the years. Any thoughts on why Fisher won’t offer the same deal with Oakland as he is in LV regarding a way scaled back version at HT?
@Dsmoke34 It's impossible to take tax dollars from the people of Oakland and give it to a billionaire to build his stadium. Yes. That is impossible, and that must be the gold standard moving forward. People trying to feed their flies ought never be forced to hand over a cent to sports.
@Dsmoke34 Bought tickets to make sure my dad and I were at the game honoring you. So much was said about your love for Oakland and the community, but your willingness to sell out to Fisher for career ambitions through this entire process has been sad. Go get your bag, just don’t come back.
@Dsmoke34 With ALL(!) due and earned respect, the A’s ownership sucks. Keeping the @Athletics in @Oakland should be a top priority for @MLB and the focus should be on bringing a Haas-like owner in to buy the team and get a deal done—-someone like Joe Lacob who knows how. Then… 1/2
@Dsmoke34 City officials and everybody need to bury the hatchets and move on. Private equity needs to cover the gap. Force Fisher to sell. That’s the best play. Extend the lease, force sell, build.
@Dsmoke34 It’s also impossible to get anything done with Fisher in Oakland. In LV, different site, scaled back to just a ballpark, open to outside investors, bringing in family money—no problem. In Oakland, either multibillion dollar massive development or nothing. So damn fishy.
@Dsmoke34 The A’s and the City need to do everything possible to get something done at HT, but honestly don’t think Fisher has the money to complete a project of that size. Hes struggling to get the funds for the Vegas stadium project. We need Fisher to sell the team to Lacob who has the $
@Dsmoke34 It’s impossible to get anything done with the ownership group thats overseeing our A’s 🙄 I know you can’t publicly agree with this Dave, but I hope you know deep down that John Fisher, A’s owners of past, Selig, and Manfred are the real parties responsible for the A’s leaving.
