I am seeing a lot of anti Muslim *people* sentiment at the moment. I would just like to say that I am no fan of the religion, and some divisions of it are worse than others. However I also know that there are reasonable and tolerant Muslims. Or ppl from a “Muslim background” 1/
There is a big difference between a fundamentalist, and a reasonable culturally Muslim but not really religious “Muslim” person, and a spectrum of people with different views and perspectives. I am worried that people are straying into ID politics 2/
I’m not saying I think Islam as a religion is “good” or “ok”. I don’t think that about any religion because every one is based on dogma. It usually comes down to what the dogma says and how much of it an individual sticks to and whether they do so irrationally 3/
@DuncanHenry78 I have lived and worked where there has been large Muslim communities, I have never met a non religious Muslim. But I have met and made friends lots of great people who follow Islam.
@DuncanHenry78 Islam has never had a reformation. There is *only* fundamental Islam, there is no other. And they will ALL cleave to it when the call comes. Or they'd lose their heads just like non-believers will.
