@SF_DPH @MattHaneySF There is NO information on that website. No data, no timeline, no plan, no way to schedule an appointment. Conversely, look at the LA county website:corona-virus.la/covid-19-vacci… A single portal with all vaccine locations and one-click to schedule an appointment. WTF is going on here?

California is near last, 44 out of 50 in percentage of vaccines administered. We shouldn't have vaccines sitting in freezers. Let's get them out there now, to essential workers and the elderly. There's nothing more important.

I have heard from dozens of residents, many in priority tiers, who have asked their private providers about vaccine process & timing, & aren't given any answers. In this context, it is unacceptable, reckless for county officials to simply point people towards private providers.

The idea that this is even a question is a bit odd. It's like asking should we have mass testing sites? How else would we do it? Seriously how are we supposed to vaccinate over 600,000 people this year, without mass distribution sites? We actually need many.

Yes, of course. The issue is deeper though. From testing to vaccines we’re telling people, more than many other cities, to go to our health insurers for the answers. The “try your best 🤷🏻‍♂️ ” shtick is getting old. Means-testing a pandemic response is bad policy.

This is just madness. SFDPH says we aren't going to lead widespread distribution, so go talk to your private provider. Private providers then say, we can't help you, go talk to the county. This needs to be fixed, now. Other counties are handling this very differently.

People all over the country are getting vaccinated--including educators, people over 65, people who are essential workers--and that is often happening with leadership from the county or public officials, we can and should do that too.

When asked where, when, how people will get their vaccine? The SF Department of Public Health still saying most people should contact their private provider. That was their response just now. This is not an acceptable answer. Most private providers have no information.
