@EASPORTSNHL listen to the fans ? oh fuck we are done , they will waste time on a mode like gm connected who nobody will play after 2 months ...
Relatively speaking, it was an alright video explaining where you guys are at with NHL and feedback. However, its been 10+ yrs and the community feedback still feels the same. Here's my breakdown. 1) We need a new backdrop for CHEL because the setting of being outdoors is stale. Maybe introduce two or three new settings. Not to mentioned the constant freezing just before puck drop. That's highly annoying. 2. Goalies need some much needed love because the old mechanics or updated mechanics are not working out. CPU goalies are worse than human goalies to an extent. Meaning, trolling goalies are worse than both. 3. Matchmaking needs to be overhauled in CHEL to streamline the entire process to get into an actual game. The loading screen to CHEL is awful and then select a mode and then to invite friends, etc is even worse. Simplicity is key. Players don't want to wait 8-10 minutes to play a match. Also see one 1) and luckily if you get passed that then hell watch out for 2) lol. Occasionally you can get a decent game but very seldom. Additionally, it would be best to see *Ranked CHEL (6v6)* and *Unranked CHEL (6v6)* which personally bring new players to the game and existing. You can even tie a BP to CHEL and remove that awful rewards screen. 4. Faceoffs against CPU's are just atrocious in CHEL and you win 100% of the time unless you are AFK or eating or drinking something. Human faceoffs are good. 5. Fighting needs to be more exciting like back in the 90's. Allow more fights on the screen at the same time. Goalie vs Goalie, Player vs Player, full team brawl lol. Bring back blood, etc. 6. Presentation in CHEL is depressing also and that relates to 1) and it should be more exciting. Fans banging on the glass while playing, fighting, etc. Where are the voices and the taunts from fans? Where is the chirping from players on opposing teams. Add into the game. I have many great ideas and I know you guys are always looking for feedback. I live in BC as well so I would be happy to come by and talk. Keep up the great work.
@EASPORTSNHL Game play innovation. You can score at a whim but can’t even use the stick lift 😂
@EASPORTSNHL All this talk and the AI is awful, can’t even do a basic stick lift
@EASPORTSNHL Love @TheClapperton taking this new approach
@EASPORTSNHL Please tell me @billieeilish and @finneas will make an appearance on #NHL24 's Album. I so want to put "Bad Guy" in as my goal song!
@EASPORTSNHL Gameplay won’t matter unless the nerfing is removed. ie: don’t allow base gold teams to out skate a stacked team in Hut. Also, gameplay should no longer be nerfed down based on your ranking
My take. That Discord is going to be so toxic the day it launches, I can't even imagine. GM Connected isn't the community's biggest ask either, it's a welcome addition, but I still think the main focus needs to be about the core gameplay and making that fresh and functional across all modes. The idea that they want to use the whole EA FC HyperMotionV thing in NHL could be worth while, but if the core mechanics are broken like they have been, then it's all a moot. All I want is a game that makes sense for competitive play since that is where the bulk of their userbase is. I'm hoping to see more in the reveal, but a Discord isn't going to change anything. I can appreciate the thought, but lets be real, the type of community engagement that you'll see in that Discord with developers is going to be slim to none with the product dev cycle these guys are on, and they're not going to be point blank and address mechanics which is all people want to talk about anyway. I would rather the devs focus on the game and let the Community Manager and Game Changers be the voice of the community.
