Our findings suggest that a that community-based HIIT+RT is superior to MICT+RT and RT for improving cardiovascular parameters during training, as well as for maintaining cardiovascular and functional improvements after training cessation 5/6
- functional performance ⬆️ after all training programs, but only HIIT+TF group maintained, at least in part, all improvements (handgrip strength, #flexibility, lower limb strength and mobility ) after training cessation 4/6
- similar ⬇️ in waist circumference (3.3 cm) after HIIT+RT and MICT+RT, with maintenance after training cessation - only HIIT+TF ⬇️ systolic blood pressure (7.9 mmHg) and arterial stiffness (0.69 m/s), but only arterial stiffness ⬇️ was maintained after training cessation 3/6
Our new paper published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology @ejpcei investigated 92 older women under socioeconomic vulnerability that were randomly assigned to 9 months of HIIT+TF, MICT+TF or TF, followed by three months of training cessation, and found: 2/6
