I’m confused, it may be just my age, but in most respects my thinking is still clear. I’m confused about the government’s plan. I don’t know which of the ‘missions’ ‘first steps’ or ‘phases’ we are now in. Perhaps it will all come clear at the Labour Party conference.

This news has spoiled my whole day. I dreamt of the day when I sat in the lounge of the Sunset Bliss Retirement Home and watched Angela Rayner and Penny Mordaunt knock lumps off each other at PMQs. Nigel Farage versus Ed Davey just doesn’t do it for me.
