Given that the details here *really* matter if we want the CDB to actually make life better for disabled people and not just act as a transfer from provincial spending to Federal, this is nonsensical We don’t want the CDB to allow provinces to cut spending and pocket the savings

@EScrimshaw The details do matter, I agree. But time is also of the essence as the disabled community has be suffering greatly for a long time. They passed an empty bill, refused to give interim help, and have given zero updates on its status.
@EScrimshaw Agreed, but they have been "working on" the CBD for four years. What have they been doing? How long does it take?
@EScrimshaw Perfect is the enemy of good - Voltaire. At the time of the legislation they had the opportunity to codify no clawbacks, the government chose not to do so. Call it what it is, #PWD are being held hostage and first given the opportunity die via MAID rather than live with aid.
@EScrimshaw Exactly, people dont seem to know that theres a provincial disability pension &a Federal disability pension thru CPP-one has to have worked to receive it. The provinces will do with Fed money as they seem fit as evidenced by the recent past fed covid money Ontario banked it
@EScrimshaw How about the provinces just upload to the federal government? We don't have provinces in charge of CPP etc. So why not just have the feds take over?
@EScrimshaw hope you enjoy eating your words, heres some salt from my wounds.
@EScrimshaw Not really. The Liberals haven’t shown us anything to use as a form of trust on this issue. They’ve continuously dragged out this legislation & we have no idea how the regulatory process will go.
@EScrimshaw If the federal gov was concerned about provincial govs using the Canada disability benefit to offset costs by clawing back the benefit from disabled people, they should have adopted the Senate amendment to protect against it. The federal gov made a conscious choice to reject it
