Hearing from trusted sources in the Senate that there’s an active push to reinsert pesticide liability protections into the Farm Bill, even after the House stripped them out. To the Senate: don’t. If this comes back with those protections included, we have the votes to kill it. A number of Republicans are already regretting their vote against the amendment and are feeling the pressure from MAHA moms back home for their reelections.

I stood on the steps of the Supreme Court Monday . Donald Trump has done real things for MAHA. I believe that. But when the Department of Justice shows up to defend Bayer and Monsanto against the American people, against the health of our children, I have to say: you got this one wrong. Liability protection for corporations that poison people is not a conservative value. It is not a Republican value. It is not a Democratic value. It is not an American value. It is the opposite of a free market. It is the government putting its thumb on the scale for corporations that are losing in court because their products are causing cancer. Every child in this country deserves to be healthy. That is not a political statement. That is the only statement that matters. So in the words of the President himself: we are going to fight, fight.

The vote on the Farm Bill (with PRIME Act included!) is likely delayed two weeks now due to fight over E15. I look forward to voting for an amendment to strip the pesticide immunity/state labeling ban from the bill when it comes up. With public support, the amendment could pass.

I have a little boy, and the amount of articles I have seen on pesticides and herbicides popping up in children’s products (to include organic) is very bad. On behalf of all the moms and dads that aren’t in office, I am not going to be bullied into supporting a bill that is providing protections and immunity to corporations that are responsible for giving children and adults cancer. This is literally above party affiliation. EVERY PARENT in CONGRESS should be standing up against this.

We will BLOW UP the farm bill if Sections 10205, 10206, and 10207 are NOT REMOVED from the Farm Bill. Section 10205 would shield pesticide makers from liability, weaken warning labels, and put foreign chemical corporations above the health of American families.

Glyphosate is making Americans sick. The people that are the poorest are consuming the highest amounts. It is poison. Literally. The farm bill must be stopped until provisions protecting glyphosate are removed.
