A pleasure to have had a constructive introductory meeting with Kushtrim Hodaj, CEO of the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo (PIK), today. I stressed the importance of effective investigations in ensuring police accountability, a cornerstone of public trust and the rule of law.
Today, I had an introductory meeting w/ Srpska Lista's President Zlatan Elek & team, with whom I discussed rule-of-law related matters. In the meeting I reaffirmed the Mission’s continued commitment to supporting the security & human rights of all communities in Kosovo.
Delighted to welcome, at EULEX Center Mitrovica, EU Member States' diplomatic reps in Kosovo. W/ Minister of Internal Affairs Sveçla we had an engaging conversation about EULEX 🇵🇱 FPU valuable contribution to 🇽🇰 stability through CRC capability provided to support @Kosovo_Police.
My sincere congratulations to 🇽🇰 Kosovo's new President Justina Shiroka Pula. With hopes for renewed political and institutional stability, I look forward to working with her, Kosovo's institutions & the broad political spectrum on moving the country closer to the European Union. The 🇪🇺 EU's support will remain unwavering. #EUbyYourSide
It was a great pleasure to have my first courtesy call today w/ the 🇭🇷 Ambassador to 🇽🇰 Danijela Barišić, for an important exchange on the Mission’s work, RoL & security affairs in 🇽🇰. I also took this opportunity to express my appreciation for 🇭🇷’s continued support to EULEX.
I appreciated the opportunity to have a courtesy call with the French Ambassador to Kosovo, Jean-François Huchet, to discuss EULEX’s work to advance the rule of law in Kosovo and the current situation. I welcome 🇫🇷 sustained engagement & support to the Mission.
On the occasion of my courtesy call with Kosovo Minister of Health Arben Vitia, we had an engaging exchange on the important functioning of Prison Health Department to provide medical services to prisoners across correctional facilities.
Privileged to bestow on behalf of EU HR/VP the EU CSDP Service Medal to the 7th EULEX RFPU. Their deployment under the aegis of @Eurogendfor was evidence that, when circumstances so require, the EU is prepared to stand alongside its partners & contribute to stability in Kosovo.
Strengthening the rule of law and supporting Kosovo’s institutions remain central to EULEX’s work. Yesterday, I discussed these priorities with the Italian Ambassador to Kosovo, Maurizio Antonini, as well as thanked him for 🇮🇹 Italy’s important contribution to the Mission.
Productive initial discussion w/ Kosovo Probation Service’s Director General Arsim Tahiri. Building on our ongoing collaboration, EULEX remains committed to supporting KPS efforts to deliver services such as effective and targeted rehabilitation programmes to probation clients.
Honoured to join @EUAmbKS in welcoming @EU_Commission President Ursula @vonderleyen on the occasion of her visit to Kosovo.

I had the pleasure to welcome at EULEX HQ the non-resident Ambassador of Ireland to Kosovo, Ragnar Almqvist, for an exchange of notes on the rule-of-law & security landscape in Kosovo. I extended my gratitude to Ireland for the continuous support to EULEX.
It was a pleasure to meet with Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Japan, Hiroyasu Tanigaki, for a valuable exchange on the developments in Kosovo and the importance of rule-of-law.
During my introductory meeting w/ Kosovo Correctional Service General Director Ismail Dibrani, we had a fruitful discussion on the positive impact of EULEX steadfast commitment to supporting KCS in consolidating a professional, effective & human-rights-based correctional system.
Three years have passed since Kosovo Police Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku gave his life in the line of duty. I was deeply honored to pay tribute to his memory and his ultimate sacrifice to uphold the rule of law. Those responsible must be brought to justice.
