When I was a senior in high school, I was a Congressional Youth Leadership Scholar. When I went to DC, I will never forget going to the Supreme Court. The overwhelming feeling looking up at the bench. The pride I felt knowing that the justices sitting on the highest court were not only the checks, but the balance this country so desperately needed. The heartache and heartbreak I feel to see what it has become is beyond devastating. I have no words…
@cooltxchick For me, it was a conscious career choice, based on my belief in Justice and the Rule of Law. I dedicated my life to those concepts. My disappointment and disillusionment is immeasurable, and it doesn’t help that I had a front row seat for watching Mitch McConnell destroy both.
McConnell is the true architect, he overhauled the SCOTUS and the entire judiciary. He figured out how get legislation done via bypassing Congress, and filing lawsuits in areas that align with what MAGA/GOP wants. **Aka “judge shopping” Then, if things DON’T go his/their way, they appeal up to the compromised SCOTUS.
