Breaking News 🗞️ Graphic Warning ‼️ The incident you're referring to occurred on January 9, 2026, during an anti-ICE protest outside the federal building in Santa Ana, California. The protester, a 21-year-old named Kaden Rummler, was struck in the face at close range by a less-lethal round (likely a type of impact projectile such as a bean bag or sponge round) fired by a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agent. Rummler underwent six hours of surgery to address severe injuries. Doctors removed shards of plastic, glass, and metal embedded in his eyes and face. He suffered a fractured skull around his eyes and nose. A piece of metal was lodged just 7 millimeters from his carotid artery, which doctors were reluctant to remove due to the risk of fatal bleeding. He has permanently lost vision in his left eye. The protest was in response to broader issues, including the fatal shooting of Renee Macklin Good in Minnesota by an immigration agent and opposition to mass deportations under the current administration. Video footage below, circulated widely on social media shows federal agents approaching demonstrators, some of whom were throwing orange safety cones, before less-lethal rounds were fired. One clip captures Rummler being hit in the face and dropping to the ground. Witnesses and family (including his aunt, Jeri Rees) described the agent firing from just a few feet away, and Rummler claimed agents taunted him about losing his eye while he pleaded for medical help. DHS statement described the event differently, stating that about 60 “rioters” threw rocks, bottles, and fireworks at officers, injuring two agents, and that two protesters were arrested on charges including assault on federal officers. A use-of-force expert consulted by the LA Times noted that training protocols generally prohibit aiming less-lethal projectiles at the face/head due to the risk of serious injury or death, and firing at such close range can turn these tools effectively lethal. This has sparked significant online discussion, with some viewing it as excessive force during a protest, while others frame it as a consequence of confronting law enforcement. A press conference by the activist group Dare to Struggle was held. It's a serious and tragic injury, highlighting the risks of less-lethal munitions when used at close range.
Jaw-dropping crowds in DC right now, heading toward the White House. People do not like military takeovers of their city.

@tj_littlejohn @Mr_OscarGrouch You’re pathetic. Your software is made to STEAL art. Your software isn’t art.
@tj_littlejohn I hope you get sued into oblivion. AI artists are lazy. You want the glory but don’t have the discipline and heart to work for it. You want everything for nothing. It’s embarrassing. #fightaiart

So! It wasn’t a democrat. It wasn’t an illegal immigrant. It wasn’t an LGBTQ person. It wasn’t an African American. It wasn’t anyone he said is poisoning the blood of Americans. He was white young and a registered republican.
THIS! Everything I've wanted to say since the moment his ear was nicked by the glass.
