If other people see the world differently, it's only because it looks different from where they stand. Why argue over who's right, when it's so much more fun (and useful) to figure out why we disagree to begin with — to come up with imaginative ways to synthesize our insights.

It's tempting to think that the most successful projects are the best managed ones, but that's just a failure of imagination. Look how nature self-organized, from particles and cells to ecosystems and galaxies: what could we do if we'd learn to self-organize like that?

The world wasn't built by heroic individuals: on our own, humans can do very little. Not just lifting a heavy plank, but inventing language, numbers, science and culture — these are profoundly collective achievements, and what our infrastructure and systems should be about.

We don't really practice democracy in our lives: not in school, not at work, maybe the occasional vote. But it doesn't have to be the case: the internet is the largest, most successful experiment in anarchism ever, and we can reclaim it to learn what democracy actually means.
