GUYS we “only” added 200k new jobs during the middle of a pandemic surge; npr.org/2022/01/07/107…
“only”6.2M new jobs under Biden, a first-year record for any president
@EricBoehlert I'm inclined to wait anyway for verification. BOL has revised jobs added in previous months.
@EricBoehlert @JoyAnnReid yet double that number was expected. We are not in the middle of a pandemic.
@EricBoehlert Not hard to understand why they are losing talented hosts.
@EricBoehlert But the ADP report shows 800,000 private hires in December. By my interpretation that means 600,000 left their old job for a better one without a lull in employment. Better job means better benefits, better wages which in turn creates a better economy.
@EricBoehlert And December is not a hiring month. Most people are trying to celebrate the holidays.
@EricBoehlert @JoyAnnReid Imagine how high the number would be if more employers were willing to pay living wages!
@EricBoehlert And that number is not a final one. It will be revised upward. Already the media is salivating about loss of seasonal jobs that would normally be expected in January. “We might even have a negative number” said one hyperbolic pundit this morning.
