I would be ecstatic if Cooper Dejean ends up here, don't think there's a chance in hell that the Eagles take him in the first round.
@JohnBarchard Why? Young, elite athlete, played in a big time conference, and theoretical positional versatility. I think he checks a lot of boxes they typically look to check.
@ErniePurcell mostly their draft history, and typically they wouldn't bet on a hybrid in round one. outside corner is the one place they will eventually just go vet again, but I didn't think there was a chance Saquon was gonna be here either so we'll see.
@JohnBarchard Yeah I do generally think the concept of positional versatility can be exaggerated if it’s theoretical. I just think outside of his athletic profile the extensions on offense mean they need to find cheap defensive cornerstones in the draft and the DE/S/LB classes are weak.
@JohnBarchard And DeJean being a hybrid is less of an outlier to succeed on the perimeter than a 170 lb corner in Wiggins. Kind of feels like they’re in between tiers at 22 and are just gonna try to trade back
@ErniePurcell If they pick him and announce him as a safety, im all in
