@HardejJoanna @AustinMacauley My Mama loved her childhood years spent in India after such a turbulent time and has always reminisced this happy period with fond nostalgia.

@HardejJoanna So excited to have received our copy and looking forward to reading it with the youngest generation in our family as this is also the story of my Mama and her childhood in Siberia.

@polishodyssey Interesting... my Uncle, Eligiusz Marzec, was also part of the WW2 Siberian Exile and ended up settling in Venezuela. I don’t know too much about his history there so it’s always fascinating to piece together parts of the puzzle by hearing the stories of others.

@HardejJoanna @SilenceInPolish I would love to hear the details of your Dad’s story one day and see what corresponds with the parts of my Mum’s story which I know and some of which were already getting fuzzy and muddled in recent years. As you say, it is so important their story is not forgotten.

@HardejJoanna @SilenceInPolish That’s so great you managed to do that. My Mum had exactly the same journey, also with typhoid, & ending up in Valivade. Sadly she now has dementia and all the details are lost other than what she has told me & what I can piece together from other sources.

@HardejJoanna “The best remedy for those who are lonely or unhappy is to go outside, where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature & God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be & that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature.” Anne Frank

@HardejJoanna Yes, I can totally understand that. It’s a recurrent theme which we have heard from so many of our clients and gardening friends during lockdown. Continued Happy Gardening Pan Siatka! 🌱

@HardejJoanna @stanthonyslough Ah, to appreciate the ephemeral beauty of flowers! In Japan, Cherry blossoms are revered for their fragile beauty, all the more exquisite as it is so fleeting.”Gardens strewn with faded flowers are worthier of our appreciation..the most precious thing in life is its uncertainty.”

If the events of life – with all its bitterness – risk suffocating the gift of #Prayer within us, it is enough to contemplate a starry sky, a sunset, or a flower, to reignite the spark of thanksgiving. #GeneralAudience
