Shuffling laterally more than once during an infield drill is a waste of a movement. When do you see an infielder take 3 shuffles to get around a ground ball? A day before they become an outfielder!

We’ve gone too far with the “Toe up” teach. What not to teach is as important as what to emphasize. Toe up is a checkpoint to see timing - not a set position to continually put your young athletes in for every ground ball rep. You’re teaching them heels instead of balls of feet.

It is important for the 1B to establish a throwing lane on a double play ball. We use the terminology “Grass to Grass, Dirt to Dirt.” The SS should align himself on the side of the bag that matches the 1B position. @TheProsPipeline #ExpandRoutine

After regular rolling Gb’s I always thought it was important to train athleticism and freedom. It’s something you and I probably did off a brick house or wall as a kid but this generation doesn’t. 1. “Jeter” 2. “Organize underneath “ 3. “Be an athlete”
