George Russell shouting for a red flag after his crash left him in the middle of the track. There was no red flag called. Really bad look for race control in terms of driver safety.
@F1GuyDan Newish F1 fan question: Would a red flag have preserved George's place in the race?
@F1GuyDan George Russel screeching like a woman in the delivery room. Nothing new.
@F1GuyDan Y'all need to focus on the safety of the drivers
It was literally on the last lap. Even if they had called a red flag, the cars ahead would have had to go past him to get back to the pits per the rules - under the same conditions (speed) as the virtual safety car that was called - a red flag would have made absolutely no difference to George's position - the only difference would be that the race would have finished in the pits and not on track.
@F1GuyDan Do you have all of the facts?. Race control had all of the data of the following cars, they may have assessed it and decided that a Virtual Safety Car was going to slow the field down immediately. George immediately said he was ok.
@F1GuyDan Smart call there but no points for GR, red flag 🚩 would preserve his previous lap standing
@F1GuyDan That would be terrifying for any driver to be in the track like that not being able to see what’s coming.
