After last week's anniversary essay-like thing, I figured I'd need to start up the second year nice and strong. Enjoy. failingandflailing.com/post/standing-…

So, I wrote a sad story this week. It was cathartic for me. I hope y'all enjoy it, too. failingandflailing.com/post/dealing-w…
I forgot to post anything here, because I was drunk and sick when I wrote it and just sick when I published it, but I really liked my first story of the new year: failingandflailing.com/single-post/20…
Also, what does it say about me that the first two stories I put out there after Thanksgiving center around the main character drinking in a bar?
Coming out of my stress filled autumn, I realized I haven't talked to you in a while. First and foremost, on NaNo: Wooo! My graph was hilarious looking and my brain hurt for a week or so, but I did it! ...if only I was able to finish the damned story in 50k words, too...
@scottEweinberg An Eddie Murphy dragon, obviously
I just started a monthly series of short stories about a tiny fictional town that isn't what it appears on the surface. Enjoy: failingandflailing.com/single-post/20…
For anyone interested in Roman historical fiction, enjoy the this week's story of Roman politics, intrigue, and murder: failingandflailing.wixsite.com/tales/single-p…
In short, feel free to hate things and critique them, but be careful about forcing a change to a finished work because you didn't like it. (Sorry, that got a shitton more rant-y than I thought it would...)
It could, and this is far out there and completely theoretical, even bring up a generation of new creatives afraid to tell stories that don't appeal to everyone.
I know I'm a tad late with this, but I wanted to gather up my thoughts on #GoT before talking. Firstly, the final season and the finale were Fine. Not great, but not hot garbage. I can see where the disappointment and irritation comes from and it did feel forced, but it's Fine.
1: I can churn out about 10k words in a day, if I have the free time and focus myself. 2: Keeping track of 10 characters and their relationships is way easier than 50. Around a million times easier. 3: I'm 100% doing this shindig again come July. Hopefully I'll win next time!
So, I've just failed my #CampNaNoWriMo. Only got to 40k words, unfortunately. I spent a tad too much time not writing when I should have been and now am too far behind to make up in the next few hours. I did learn a couple of things in the process, though:
@agletterman I'm a firm believer in the idea that interesting characters are the best way to make an unique world
So, I'm writing right now, and I just made the typo: "She knew one fact of life: anyone can be stopped with a single well-placed shit", and I have the sudden urge to write THAT story...
Keeping it up, this week I present a tale of Roman politics and intrigue. failingandflailing.wixsite.com/tales/single-p…
