Just boarded an early morning flight wearing my @MIT gear. A seat mate looked at me and asked, “Basketball?” I said, “No. Engineering!” What about me prompted him to think I was playing or coaching basketball? 🤔
@educator2us @MIT To be fair, that is a Coaches pullover. Usually worn by recruiters, or coaches traveling. You look way too old to be confused as a player. Very PROUD to see a Black man repping MIT. Keep going
@FLAUCYFITS @educator2us @MIT To be fair that's NOT it at all!! As a 6'3" BLACK MAN, I know exactly what this was. My entire mid school pre-teen life until this very day, I get asked if I play/played ball. I went to a trade high school and gained to licenses to become a certified aviation mechanic. And even
@FLAUCYFITS @educator2us @MIT M.I.T. has a basketball team?? Like, I would’ve assumed rowing before damn basketball!! It’s bias plain and simple.
@FLAUCYFITS @educator2us @MIT Ummm ....No! Even if it looks like coaching attire, why basketball?
@FLAUCYFITS @educator2us @MIT The enrolled student population at Massachusetts Institute of Technology is 27.3% White, 20.2% Asian, 9.8% Hispanic or Latino With that breakdown, I'd be happy to see a straight white guy repping too...
@FLAUCYFITS @educator2us @MIT I wear stuff like that all the time, esp when I was in shape working out all the time. No one EVER asked if I played in college or coached.
@FLAUCYFITS @educator2us @MIT LMAO coaches pullover, I have pullovers similar to that from Ohio U ...
@FLAUCYFITS @educator2us @MIT Wrong. It's absolutely NOT a coaches' pullover just because coaches and recruiters also wear it sometimes. It's literally just a fall men's outerwear jacket that anyone can buy and wear.
@FLAUCYFITS @educator2us @MIT Good chance he got in just to satisfy a diversity quota
