How're you holding up? 2020 was a lot and 2021 seems like the right time for a fresh look and feel, don't you think? We're excited to be back this year, with more announcements coming very soon. For now though, we're proud to share our new look with you!
Siena mentions the importance of systerhood when tempted by our ego to have a go at others and prove them wrong. Support each other instead.
Viki: go into a meeting channeling your role model
Viki: identifying your access needs even if you don’t need it. The more your access need feels you’re a diva, the more you need it. Ask for it.
Viki mentions a triangle of work: soul, passion/development and bank balance. If the thing doesn’t fulfil two of the above you don’t do it. Otherwise plan, plan, plan. If not well mentally, go with someone else. Working out what it is you need in this situation, and planning it.
Samya: Young people’s voices and ideas are not always taken seriously - but there are moments when the message gets through and you’re holding people in power accountable. That’s really empowering. See @GretaThunberg for example. One person can make a difference.
Samya: saying no and having boundaries is important. You don’t have to do everything and say yes to everything. We don’t need to be busy to be successful.
Self-reflections and self-care is mentioned by Siena. Which quickly prompts a question about the support she is getting.

Viki: identifying your access needs even if you don’t need it. The more your access need feels you’re a diva, the more you need it. Ask for it.
Viki mentions a triangle of work: soul, passion/development and bank balance. If the thing doesn’t fulfil two of the above you don’t do it. Otherwise plan, plan, plan. If not well mentally, go with someone else. Working out what it is you need in this situation, and planning it.
Samya: sometimes it’s about taking a step back, planning a treat for afterwards; sometimes for more difficult stuff I think of the long-term impact of the situation and normalise it for myself (for example exams).
Samya: Young people’s voices and ideas are not always taken seriously - but there are moments when the message gets through and you’re holding people in power accountable. That’s really empowering. See @GretaThunberg for example. One person can make a difference.
Hospitality is a brutal industry for women.
The health sector is full of women until you get to the top which is full of men. @OTRKaren
Personal comment: if BAME identifying individuals still struggle, how on earth do EU citizens feel in the U.K. at the moment? (I fear just asking it makes me ache...)
Samya: saying no and having boundaries is important. You don’t have to do everything and say yes to everything. We don’t need to be busy to be successful.
Self-reflections and self-care is mentioned by Siena. Which quickly prompts a question about the support she is getting.

3. @OTRKaren mentions her imposter syndrome stepping in the role managed by @SRNewitt for so long so well @otrbristol Confidence is an issue. It’s about understanding how other people see you and their expectations and how that plays out. Recognising the new role too.
