The Daily record deliberately made it look as if Nicola Sturgeon used no social distancing when meeting her parents. Some people will make a judgment without even reading the article. The photo used by the Daily Record could create a more relaxed attitude to social distancing.

There have been many articles about popular TV shows being removed from streaming services. The media have attempted to link the BLM movement to people being offended by these shows to create negative public attitudes towards BLM. BLM and the intbetweeners are UNRELATED.

It is important at this time at pay attention to the way the media are framing these gatherings in regards to the pandemic. They will show you poc protesting not crowded beaches filled with white families. This rhetoric is just one aspect of what this fight is against.

Yesterday Glasgow came out in force to support the injustice that black individuals and poc face everyday from society, our justice system and long engrained racist culture. It was an emotional day filled with love, solidarity and raw displays of the injustice faced. #BLMglasgow

The issues of the past week have been in the US which clearly has a bigger problem with racism than in the UK. These events have been horrific but it’s important that we also recognise problems within in UK because of the significant impact we can have on policy decisions here.

But most importantly, educate yourself then educate others. Politics can be a popularity contest. A big priority for politicians is getting votes. If they know a large number of people want to eradicate institutional racism then they are more likely to tackle it.
