It’s really bad for culture to recast villains as misunderstood heroes Bryan makes a good point about that
The only conclusion I am left with is that our stories are being written by evil people who are insecure.
Screenwriting is a way to write your own Bible with yourself as the Christ-figure. Casting women who lock other women up to keep them from marriage as the true heroes is on the heckin' nose.
The only conclusion I am left with is that our stories are being written by evil people who are insecure.

First look at ‘STEPS’, a new animated film that follows Cinderella’s evil stepsisters who are actually depicted as kind & misunderstood Starring Ali Wong and Stephanie Hsu as the stepsisters Releasing in 2026 on Netflix
Cinema has never done a better job with pacing than Better Call Saul, and it never will.
Watch The Hunt for Red October to learn godly masculinity. It's great.
God's world seems like a fantasy to those who have been sold a fantasy. Peel it back for them.
C.S. Lewis believed we needed to create more actual pagans before we could see more Christians. I think he was right. Aslan doesn’t show up in the modern liberal world. His sacrifice makes no sense in it. Take people through the wardrobe, show them a faun, a dwarf and a witch.
Rules are rules.
"Characters must be appropriate or true to type: there is a manly character, but it is not appropriate for a woman to be manly..." Aristotle, The Poetics
Watch Sleepless in Seattle with your wife to teach her to resent your consistent provision and pine for the ambiguous magic of a stranger with emotional baggage. You'll get some laughs out of it, too.
"An evildoer listens to wicked lips; A liar pays attention to a destructive tongue." - Proverbs 17:4

"...some people make unreasonable prior assumptions and then, although the adverse verdict is one they have reached by themselves, they make inferences from it and if anything contradicts their own ideas they criticize the poet as if he had expressed their opinion." - Poetics
'28 Years Later' signifies our descent into a new, nefarious era of cinema- one where people will lap up all sorts of evil with relief because it isn't gay.
Over the last few decades, the standard for Christian cinema is that all movies must be watchable with a sensitive grandmother. So, the sensitive grandmother became the only target demographic of Christian cinema.
Anastasia, while produced with clear talent and care, won’t pick a spiritual lane. This choice was likely made to avoid alienating viewership. Instead, the result is spiritual incoherence and thus emotional disconnect, in what ought to have been a dynamite film.
Why was this awkward? Why did Matt Damon not think this was funny at all? Was he not just tonguing his girl? #hollyworld youtube.com/watch?v=JgVZYb…
"I have discovered Shakespeare to be a stimulating source for reflections on pastoral practice, history, politics, love, and life in general, not even to mention that Shakespeare uses the English language as no human being, before or since, has used language." -Peter Leithart
"Allusion helps you write for different audiences at the same time, and to do so without insulting half of them." Doug Wilson

'The Nice Guys', though showing great concern for us birds, is a good example of how compelling characters, witty dialogue, reveals, reversals and thrilling action can be used to trick audiences into enjoying a movie rampant with sexual immorality and communist messaging.
