Come on Nightdive, remaster Quake 3 Arena and get it running good on modern hardware out of the box. The things this will do for those who yearn for the arena...

@Docneuroeo I just have a hard time believing that Aliens that are so much more advanced technologically than us, give a damn about staying in the shadows or unseen

Crash Bandicoot was created because Sony needed its own Mario or Sonic. When Naughty Dog started developing the game for the original PlayStation, Sony didn't have a mascot character to compete with Nintendo and Sega. So Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin set out to create one. The early nickname for the project was “Sonic’s Ass,” because they were trying to figure out how a 2D platformer like Sonic could work in 3D, with the camera positioned behind the character. The team took more inspiration from Donkey Kong Country than Mario. They also bought a field guide to Tasmanian mammals and considered using a wombat, a potoroo or a bandicoot. For a while, the character was called Willy the Wombat, and his design was heavily influenced by the Tasmanian Devil from Looney Tunes. Crash wasn't originally Crash either. The name came later, after the character started smashing the game's crates. The name stuck, Willy the Wombat became Crash Bandicoot, and Sony finally had the mascot it needed. Crash was designed to be Sony's answer to Mario and Sonic.

Two bodies under Newtonian gravity can be beautifully simple: a planet and the Sun trace an ellipse. Add just one more body, and the mathematics changes dramatically. The three-body problem has no comparable tidy formula for the general motion. Its dynamics can become chaotic, so tiny differences in initial conditions may eventually lead to very different trajectories. This difficulty helped Poincaré develop a new way to study differential equations through the geometry and topology of their solutions, ideas that became foundational to modern nonlinear dynamics.
