Host tip: before you list a multi-GPU box, check system RAM against total VRAM. Verification can stall if RAM is under about 95% of VRAM. Spec the RAM before you buy the cards, not after.

A dozen 6000s sitting idle is a lot of money left on the table. Even part-time on a rental marketplace usually beats zero, and you can pull them back when you need them. The main gotchas are matching system RAM to VRAM for verification, like Stefano said, and keeping drivers current.
A few ground rules for how we work. We never kick live jobs. Your payout stays in your account. You can revoke our access anytime.
GPU hosts, what eats most of your week? Pricing, downtime, or chasing utilization?
Long-term contract ended and the next one isn't signed yet? Idle GPUs still cost power and space. We can keep them listed and priced to rent until your next lease starts.
@lawgan3 Older mining cards finding a second life on rental markets is underrated. A 1660S/2080 fleet is a different ops problem than new iron, since the power floor and keeping them rented matter more than peak specs. Winter heat reuse makes the economics even kinder.
That power-vs-payout math is the real host scoreboard. Nice to see it clear household load, and winter heat reuse is a sharp edge most people ignore. I run marketplace nodes myself and put together a small ops desk (fillrate.net) for hosts who want pricing and uptime handled without giving up their payout. 7-day trial if useful, no pressure either way.
Running GPUs on a marketplace sounds passive until you're checking prices at 11pm because a competitor undercut you and your rigs went idle. That daily upkeep is what we take off your plate.
@vast_ai From the host side, that burstiness is real. The same machine can be fully rented one week and half idle the next, so pricing it well ends up being most of the job.
@MilkRoadStocks This is the part people underestimate. The gaps between contracts hurt as much as the initial ramp. Keeping idle machines listed on a marketplace at a competitive rate at least covers power and space until the next lease is signed.
