Method: 360 buys of $100 from Oct 1996 to Sep 2026. The 30-year race uses real funds with fees (SPY, VGSIX, VBMFX, BRK.B). The 45- and 50-year windows use indexes; the 10-year Treasury there is estimated from FRED yields. The inflation line is each $100 corrected by CPI-U.

$100 a month since October 1996. Same $36,000 in, very different endings.
$BRK.B: $249,741
S&P 500 ($SPY): $243,353
Gold: $217,254
REITs: $139,006
Bond fund: $56,916
Inflation line: $55,383
T-bills: $48,849
T-bills finished below inflation: 30 years of saving that lost buying power.
Berkshire, the S&P 500 and gold finished close together. Berkshire only took first place in October, after BRK.B rose 9.8% from Sep 30 to Oct 22. First place changed hands 38 times in 30 years.
Stretch it to 50 years ($60,000 in, indexes, no fees):
S&P 500: $2,949,668
REITs: $1,727,815
Gold: $511,485
T-bills: $146,471
Inflation: $133,840
Berkshire's daily prices start in 1980, so it gets 45 years: $54,000 became $6,357,556. The S&P 500 made $1,504,319.
But Berkshire is one company, picked knowing it worked. And it slowed: 17.9% a year over 45 years, 10.8% over the last 20 (S&P 500: 11.1%). Over the last 5 years, gold led with 18.0% a year.

Which one would you buy for the next 30 years?
A low number usually isn't the market mispricing the coins. It's pricing the wrapper: debt, preferred stock, dilution, and whether the company will ever sell.

@PremiChart Almost all of it: $258.1M of the $258.9M (99.7%) was sold under 10b5-1 plans, per the footnotes on each Form 4. The only sale outside a plan was director Robert Sauerberg's, $0.8M on Aug 25. The one buyer, director Sarah Farrell, bought $8.9M in Feb and March.
On June 30, 12 of the 38 superinvestors we track held over $1M of $RDDT, the most since Reddit's IPO.
In the 12 months to Oct 14, its own insiders sold $259M of stock. One director bought.
What the 13F and Form 4 filings show:
13F (Q2 2026, valued at the Jun 30 close of $173.58):

· Cliff Asness's AQR: +$51M (+3,157.7%)
· Ray Dalio's Bridgewater: +$33M (+274.1%)
· New positions: Stan Druckenmiller ($9.8M) and Ken Griffin ($5.7M)
· Andreas Halvorsen's Viking cut 38.6% (−$171M)
· Baillie Gifford trimmed 1.6% and is still the largest holder, at $1.25B
· Two Sigma sold out
7 added, 5 sold.
The business:
· Revenue went from $804M in 2023 to $2.2B in 2025
· 2025 was its first full-year profit: $530M
· Q2 2026: revenue $805M (+61%), net income $253M
Form 4 (Oct 22, 2025 to Oct 14, 2026):
· $258.9M sold in 498 open-market sales
· 99.7% under 10b5-1 plans set up in advance
· COO Jennifer Wong $116.7M, CEO Steve Huffman $74.9M, CTO Christopher Slowe $32.8M
· Only buyer: director Sarah Farrell, $8.87M in February and March
A 13F is a quarter-end snapshot: funds may have paid far less than $173.58, and the stock is down 10.3% since June 30. Planned insider selling is common and doesn't prove a problem.

Cheap against its own past is a question, not a verdict: the market may be pricing slower growth.
