There's a direct correlation between school & the mental health crises plaguing young people. ER visits for mental health-related incidents in children aged 5-17 are tied directly to school schedules. They're highest during the school year, & dip during the summer and holidays.

What a miserable failure from the institutions and systems that are supposed to develop and support our children. A vital part of education is helping kids & young adults find perspective, yet what we see here is the opposite.
Video games give the illusion of purpose. They make a young person feel like he/she is good at something. They provide an inspiring narrative & a mission to accomplish. Parents- Take those lessons & provide an environment that does the same in real life & see what happens.
If your child's public school is struggling, you don't have a "moral obligation" to go down with the ship. If anything, your social and moral obligation is to pull your kid out. So they can get a good education. So they can better help society.
As I have said before, even expensive, elitist, private schools are not immune from leftist/woke activism. So, where are you gonna take that voucher? Only Homeschooling assures YOUR values are passed on to the next generation.

Children are not "motivated by getting good grades", they are motivated by self-interests. Grades are an abstract and arbitrary value judgment that, in the immature mind, is malware for their self-worth. The interests of the child does not involve carrots and sticks.
You don’t have to be an authoritarian to have respect from your children. In fact, the more of an authoritarian model you project, the more likely you are to be perceived as just being an asshole.
