Daily bass fishing tips: lure choice, water reading and seasonal patterns from the Bass Fishing Mastery guide. Stop losing bites.dailyangler.com usaJoined October 2026
November bass, 50-62°F water. Three rules:
1. Go deeper: jig, Texas rig, medium crankbait.
2. Stretch the pause: 3-5 seconds at 50-60°F.
3. The shad pattern fades below 52-55°F.
Which one are you still ignoring?
River bass? Find the seam and cast upstream.
Current seams, the line between fast and slow water, are the number one river target. Approach from downstream and let the lure drift naturally.
Which of these are you still running? Most anglers run three or four.

5. Skipping the free stuff.
More fish are lost to a locked drag, a dull hook or a dry-cinched knot than to any wrong lure.
Fix: set the drag by pulling line, touch up hook points, wet every knot before cinching.
Bright sun, high pressure, noon, and the shallows are dead.
What do you do?
A) Keep working the shallow cover
B) Go deep and save the shallows for dawn and dusk
Fall bass keep slapping at your lure without eating it?
This year's shad are only 2-3 inches. Bass keyed on them will swipe at a magnum bait.
Don't change spots. Change SIZE. Downsize to match the juvenile bait and half-hearted swipes turn into solid strikes.
Short strikes: do you change the spot or the size?
Casting at the bass? Land it 6-10 feet past.
A lure that lands on the target erases the strike zone. Swim the bait past the fish so it arrives the way food arrives.
The wind has been pushing baitfish onto one bank all day.
The calm bank behind you is a waiting room.
Let the wind pick your water. Casting into it is a nuisance, but the bait, the bass and the feeding are on the windward side.
Which bank do you fish first on a breezy day: windward or calm?
Most anglers fish a point from the wrong side.
They pull in and cast straight at the bank, so the lure crosses the bass's depth for a moment.
Park in deep water off the tip, cast up the point, retrieve down the slope.
Which side do you fish it from?
@kbsmokehousebbq Nice stretch on the spinnerbait. Willow blades are a good call in clearer water with a faster retrieve. If the water turns murky or gets colder, try a Colorado blade slow-rolled.
Fall bass: follow the shad.
Early fall: creek arm mouths and points, lipless crankbaits.
Mid-fall: back of the creeks, spinnerbaits and swimbaits.
Below 58°F: slow down, jigs and Texas rigs.
Where are you finding them right now?
