Dear Huska, Zayne Parekh is a LD!!!!!!!!!! You see him even cheating to go to the left side to try and create offense all game, playing the offside opens up way more seam plays offensively. Huska did the same thing with Weegar, so many offensive players are better on the offside (Heatley scored 50 in the dead puck era as another example on his off-side). I wonder why we can’t score, If Ovi can play his off-side and be the best goal scorer of all time, I think Brian Burke, etcs dumb rule of must having guys on same side as they shoot is outdated, analytics tells us that this is not the case, AT ALL. Zary for example has way better RW metrics, Sharengovich is a disaster on the RW the way he shoots. They think it messes with their left side lock trap (popularized by Ken Hitchcock I believe, who’d Huska play in the WHL under?). Every Junior Coach over coaches the left wing lock now anyway and good players know how to break it up. Outdating Coaching Policy still ruling the NHL.
Remember when Parekh excelled on the top pair with Whitecloud for the last few weeks of the season, then the Flames org spent the entire summer hyping it up, just for him to play 17 minutes a night on the bottom pair again?
#Flames tonight vs. Colorado: Gridin-Frost-Coronato Sharangovich-Backlund-Farabee Honzek-Pospisil-Strome Suniev-Castagna-Klapka Bahl-Whitecloud Kuznetsov-Nemec Middleton-Parekh Cooley
I can’t wait to be on the other side of the Backlund era. #Flames
When Ryan Huska is fired and Zayne Parekh can play on the Left Side, we’ll have a hell of a Player. The whole “you can’t play your off side” is moronic. Some Players play way better on their off side, like the All Time Leading Goal Scorer in the NHL…. It sets you up for one timers and opens your footwork up to the entire Offensive Zone.
Reason #492 I don’t like Huska. Suniev–Castagna–Klapka were our best line in the first. Scored our only goal. Their reward? Riding the pine. Through two periods: Castagna: 4:39 Suniev: 5:28 Nobody’s asking for 20 minutes. Give them a few more shifts. Let them cook. “You have to earn it.” Okay, so fucking reward them when they do. Otherwise, you’re rewarding seniority, not performance. It’s a young man’s league. Get with the times. #Flames
@RonoAnalyst @SlapshotShibe No one has taken that next step under Huska
“I’ve always considered myself a rat, in a sense, and I feel like that’s pretty rare in today’s hockey.” — Brennan Othmann Fuck ya - Othmann is growing on me very, very quickly. Hope to see him in the lineup for Game 1 against Seattle. I love this stuff. 🔥 #Flames
Chase Harrington absolutely rocked this guy last night 💥 This is what Conroy saw in him: a tenacious, two-way winger who gets into the hard areas, battles for his teammates & has the skill to put pucks in the net. Hell of a way to introduce yourself to #Flames fans. 🔥

A true legend. Thanks for all the memories and unforgettable calls, Peter ❤️
It is with deep regret and sadness that the Calgary Flames organization acknowledge the passing of Peter Maher, the legendary voice of the Flames. 🔗: cflam.es/4i850Bi
Last season, Flames’ fifth-rounder Ethan Wyttenbach was 5th freshman to lead NCAA in scoring since 2000, joining first-rounders Jack Eichel, Kyle Connor, Will Smith and Adam Fantilli. He just dominated at WJ Summer Showcase. Hard to fathom 143 players were drafted ahead of him.
Walk 1026
Step 1: Beat the worst place team in the league Step 2: Come out after the game making fun of the fans for wanting to lose Step 3: Get blown out by the best team in the league in even more embarrassing fashion
#Flames 4-0-1 in their last 5. Could really use Huberdeau rn...
The #Flames have 17 combined points from players acquired during trade deadline week (Maatta, Strome, Olofsson). The next closest teams are Buffalo and Colorado with 8 points by their deadline week acquisitions.
Huska playing the vets and lugs over the kids!
Here are the fastest teams ranked in terms of 20-22 mph bursts. I also included 22+ mph bursts in the 2nd column. Boston is slowest in East while Calgary is the slowest in the NHL by significant margin.
I don’t know, maybe I’m way off on this take but… The more games Zayne Parekh plays from now until the end of the season, the less likely it becomes that he plays in the AHL next season. I think he’s gaining valuable experience already. Just bulk up a bit and he’ll be set!
