Many people who have argued Turing will be better have been awfully quiet. ERAMUS was a better scheme in funding and the links to universities across the World and the ease of exchange

Stories like these are why opponents of ERAMUS who heralded Turing as a more progressive scheme for deprived students are wrong. Cutting nearly a 1/3 of the monthly grant will not help the poorest.

This scheme was derided as a game changer and many of its proponents ignored the sheer financial and logistical differences. The prospect of ERAMUS+ students and our students paying international fees / normal tuition fees will make study exchanges less practical

How very Little England - and sad. Turing Scheme is a cheapskate version of Erasmus+ that is hardly set up to attract working class kids who need more support.

Great replacement for the Erasmus programme, guys: lower cost-of-living support, travel support means tested and above all *no tuition fee support*. That'll really get UK students queueing up to spend a year abroad won't it.

What a great way to kill language learning and cultural exchange in this country, limiting year abroad opportunities to only the rich. This pushes so many people out of language degrees and it breaks my heart

This is depressing and unsurprising in equal measure. The UK is going to be more cut off and study/travel opportunities will be reserved for the well off #Erasmus #BrexitDisaster
