@ChristianHeiens I’m Gen X and view the left in exactly the same manner. Have for years. It’s nice to know many in following generations understand the threat posed by the marxist cancer.

Most of our family is conservative. I tried to explain this to my liberal niece, who is a fairly reasonable, though left leaning millenial. I said “people ‘like you’ literally want to kill people like me. They cheered when Charlie Kirk was shot and said out loud that they wished it was every conservative in the country”. She dismissed my comments as unbelievable.

Boomers and Gen Xers went to school with other normal kids with one or two goth kids. After school they would hang out or call each other on the landline. Younger kids went to school with kids who dress up as dogs, were handed iPads and crack medication, and scream at their teachers.

Lotta people in their 30's and 40's saying this is how they view the left, but in their age groups, and IMHO, they're still the outlier. Among people under the age of 30, especially men 25 and under, it's spot on. They don't view you as some kind of cool social rebel just because you're queer or trans, have purple hair and/or facial piercing, are publicly mentally ill, recycle your paper and plastics, hate your parents, or hate Elon Musk. Or all or any combination of the foregoing. Check any of those boxes and they just view you as retarded.

@ChristianHeiens I'm nearly 50 and we have very similar views. Democrats are Communists, and Communists are not people. Every day I wake up disgusted that we allow them to participate in our society, and respect the results when they're "elected." A sane country would ban them outright.

@ChristianHeiens I'm 45, and this is exactly how I see the left. These aren't disagreements over tax policy. Modern leftists hate America and want to destroy it. There is no "common" ground.

You need to understand how Right-wing people under 40 view the Left. When we think of Leftists, we do not think of Barack Obama or Ezra Klein. Yes, these guys are on the Left, but younger Millennials and Zoomers on the Right do not think of Leftists in their own age bracket as polished technocrats. These are not the sort of people that make up our Left-wing counterparts that we grew up with, went to school with, or work with. When we think of Leftists, the first thing that pops into our head are a bunch of disgusting, depraved, spiteful mutants who want to destroy everything around them as payback for the crime of being born. We think of Discord troons that invaded our hobbies, Reddit mods who are drunk on the most insignificant power imaginable, that one girl from high school or college who became a literal Communist, and that friend or family member who cut off all contact because we refused to treat their mental illness like a status symbol. We think of people who, if they ever became a majority of the country and actually managed to possess political power, would inevitably kill tens of millions of people out of blind envy and petty cruelty. Younger people on the Right come across as impatient and anxious in their mindset and mannerisms because they understand what will eventually happen when these people succeed their Gen X and Boomer predecessors in the Democratic Party. They know what is to come if their own generational cohorts on the Left actually take power, and they feel incredibly exasperated that it seems like none of their parents or grandparents understand just how late the hour truly is.

I'm thrilled that Ilhan Omar is *finally* (perhaps) going to get her just deserts, but it is frustrating that it has taken so long.
