I’m such a big hater of Shein n Shit because y’all have allowed that type of clothing quality to be acceptable and now they simply sell bad clothing almost everywhere that isn’t bespoke or designer/small designer. Clothes were not always like this. It wasn’t always this hard.
I grew up at a time where baby phat pieces were rivaling juicy couture in terms of quality. I miss the mall!
“Some of us are poor aerin, we can’t afford another outfit we already paid for our vacation and concert tickets. What more do you want from us? Our iPhones and MacBooks too? Do you expect me to sew? How dare you ask me to buy less and spend on quality not quantity 🥱”
“I can’t afford a $50 shirt but this $50 foundation? Most definitely! And I can afford Nike dunks, they cost $110 but $110 pants is where I draw the line” “I NEEDED this skims set but I can’t afford anything other than Shein” oh brother your excuses stink!
Anybody going through any real hardships (me growing up) would realize that buying something of poor quality that is likely to be tore up in the wash isn’t actually something a poor person would do. Buying clothes to wear once is almost exclusively a privileged act.
“I’m too poor to buy real clothes but I can afford $30 shots at the bar!” Like just be fr, you don’t factor in clothing and you want to look trendy af for very cheap so you get the benefits of being fashion forwards without the financial commitment— it’s not about you lacking.
