#CornucopiasGame started on Unreal Engine 4 (#UE4) and was able to migrate smoothly in May 2022 to Unreal Engine 5 (#UE5) within a few weeks of it releasing.🔥 UE5 introduced a groundbreaking new real-time realistic lighting and reflection system called Lumen that was designed specifically for next-generation desktop and home consoles. 📷 It also introduced Nanite, a geometry system which uses brand new technology to render pixel scale detail and high object counts the likes of which has never been possible before. 🚀 As of last week, we started the upgrade from Unreal Engine 5.1 to Unreal Engine 5.3.🌽 This is a really important step that also incorporates all the updates that came with UE 5.2. It is not an insignificant task, and will take many hours across many teams to achieve. Unlike other software, where patches and updates can appear seamless, Unreal Engine is different. The entire project has to be migrated to the new version. It's a one way update All plugins have to be updated and some code and blueprints may stop working and may require updating/reworking. Most game developers will lock down an engine version at some point in development and not update it regardless of new features, we are not there yet but each update gets harder and harder. UE 5.3 had significant updates that we simply could not live without. 🚀 Lumen continues to improve with 5.2 and even further with 5.3 bringing realism and performance benefits. This is very important to make Cornucopias look as amazing as possible and will bring better performance out of the older and lower end graphics cards - this allows us to open testing up to even more players long-term.🌽 Nanite has faster performance for materials, including foliage, and landscapes while Lumen with Hardware Ray Tracing has expanded capabilities that include multiple reflection bounces, and delivers faster performance on PCs and consoles. 🔥 In the past few months, our current Community testers have seen many changes already but here are some of the massive possibilities we now have open to us, lots of these will be introduced over the next few weeks, months and years .. 🍾 - refined core elements - audio improvements - editor improvements - improved compilation time - new development tools - new cloth simulation - nanite hair improvements - volumetric fog - UE 5.3 is now compiled with the latest C++20 standard - level instances in World Partition levels and level streaming persistance - improved workflows for large worlds - improved fluid simulations - support for Nanite on Apple M2 Devices - machine learning and AI improvements - improved online services - cinematic-quality volumetric rendering For the full list of updates see the official release notes docs.unrealengine.com/5.3/en-US/unre… docs.unrealengine.com/5.2/en-US/unre… Technology does not stand still and neither does Cornucopias. Very soon we will be opening Calido Valley Raceway to our testers and racing game footage will be shared by our Community. Things will only get bigger and better from here !! 🏎 #BlockchainRevolution #CardanoCommunity #BlockchainGaming #NFTCommunity #NFT
