Kenya lost one of the most resilient intellectual giants ever to emerge from the history of the University of Nairobi. All his degrees were acquired locally; he had a very unique approach to African Narrative Pedagogy and Sociology of Liberation. In his seminal masterpiece: Rise of the Cheering Crowd: Fiction and Kenya's Political History; he satirised the so-called Nyayo Philosophy which was nothing but the personality cult around the incumbent of the day. Kenya is a lot freer but the struggle for greater freedoms still continues. Prof Casper Odegi-Awuondo PhD left a big vacuum in our intellectual landscape; may his legacy live on forevermore.
@Thriving_luos Looks like the more things change, the more they remain the same. The current Hustler Political Philosophy equally revolves around the personality cult of the incumbent. All is not lost since in you, we’ll get another intellectual giant.
