NEW EPISODE! Let's check out the Polymega and see what it's all about. youtube.com/watch?v=mdiZ2W…
@GameSack Software emulation using licensed open source emus like MAME, Mednafen, Kega, Mesen
@GameSack So the basic rundown is it's a shitty emulator box, designed with several modules you have to buy (when ROM loading from an SD card removes all of that headache). If I wanted to load physical carts, I would use OG hardware that, you know, doesn't have several frames of sound lag.
@GameSack I don't see how people defend this thing. It's abysmal compared to what's available.
@GameSack Thanks again for reviewing these. Hopefully, with more firmware updates, they can get the emulation down better on some of the modules. It's also disappointing that many newer releases aren't working. So, as a replacement for old consoles, it's definitely not as of now.
@GameSack Initially it was supposed to be fpga, then it was an i5 or i7, then is a celeron?
@GameSack Looks like it needs a lot of work. Someone could have bought a few Analogue consoles for what all that costs, or even real hardware. Not seeing the value.
@GameSack You can tell who has never used one! If you own one you'd "get it". It's not about being able to just download a bunch of roms and play them. For me, who buys games from FB and yardsales and thrifts, it's about having a machine that I can test all these games on and backup.
@GameSack You managed to get one that didn’t get stuck in the infinite logo loop?!?!
@GameSack Can’t wait to watch this. Polymega’s GUI always looked great to me but their hardware concept seems… impractical.
