Please leave achievements out of the Switch 2 howtogeek.com/the-switch-doe…
@GendoWasRight what i like more are the gold coins or stars from buying and playing games which enable you to discount future purchases and or N-Online cost this is way more tangible in my opinion as well as the gift function
@GendoWasRight I would love achievements, another reason to keep playing. I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want them as you can totally ignore them if you want🤷
@GendoWasRight I can appreciate the article, it does make a lot of sense, but I do love my achievements. As you say they are ‘more like commentary on what you did’ I like that social aspect of achievements and I certainly don’t disagree about them being optional 😊
@GendoWasRight I never cared for achievements or trophy. Don’t think Nintendo ever did either.
@GendoWasRight I’m really on the fence with this one, one the one hand I like to be able to just play and enjoy games without any achievements etc. However, part of me enjoys the additional challenges that an achievement system can add when done right, I never 100% games though so… 🤷
@GendoWasRight I sure hope they don't listen to you. I have some FOMO / light addiction issue myself, but I don't think it's a reason to not give achievements for the many people who just enjoy having a list of things to do after completion.
@GendoWasRight I feel this sentiment. I feel like in a lot of way achievements have ruined what gaming is about but then also evolved it in good and bad way. Tho overall nothing has been more harmful to gaming then over popularity and casualization
