Mother, Apparently a rabble has formed to the south and is marching on Ft. Tennessee. We will send them home with the fear of God in their souls. Matthew

Mother, We are in the Northern Territory. Their climate is miserable and their bacon disappointing. We are ready to leave this god forsaken land. Matthew

Mother, We leave New Jersey after a hard fought battle. Cpl. Ríos is handy with a sidearm, and his marksmanship saved us. We were not defeated, although it would be a stretch to call it a victory. We regroup this week before marching to the great north. Matthew Ulysses Pickens

Mother, We journeyed to New York to battle the crimson cow men. It was a difficult journey, and upon arrival we realized that they were in fact camped in New Jersey. A frustrating error, but not a costly one. We are here and ready to fight. Love, Matthew

It would appear that the street urchins from out west have tried to sully the results of this poll. I ask you to #bandtogether and show them that Nashville shall be triumphant.

Mother, We prepare this week to take the field against the ill-trained rabble from Virginia. While they are a ragtag mob, born out of desperation and procrastination, we are putting every effort into our preparation and plan to quickly overpower them. Love, Matthew

I love Evansville. Easily my favorite city here in the states. So many fascinating things to do here. #blessed

Mother, It has been too long since I last wrote. Pvt. Gutman was set to join our ranks until his commission was terminated by a bureaucratic travesty. We battled a regiment from the great north and were on the losing side. Still, we continue to prepare for the great campaign. MP

Mother, The start of our spring campaign marches on. The men are ready and our reinforcements have been a welcome addition. Corporal Lancaster is a lovely man, but his accent is very difficult for the lads to understand. With honor, Matthew

Mother, We continue to strengthen our ranks in preparation for the spring with the addition of Cpl. King. King hails from the unruly west, and, having seen his share of battle, is adept in the art of flanking. His contributions will be vital to our success. Love, Matthew

We continue to prepare for a long, cold winter. Your care packages are much anticipated. Please send more blankets. Lt. Davis especially is not fond of the cold. Love, Matthew

Mother, Our company is undergoing a transformation as we regroup during the winter. Although several of our number have not extended their commissions, we have added two new solidiers. Cpl. Ríos is deadly with a sidearm, and Lt. Tribbett is a sound leader and tactician.

Mother, Most likely word has reached you by now, but I have decided to extend my commission and march into battle with this Nashville battalion once more in the upcoming campaign. The past year was an arduous fight, but we are primed for success and look forward to victory. MP

Gen. Ingram, It’s been a week since Cincinnati. The lads fought with valor and took the enemy to the brink of defeat. We are not disheartened, but we shall take the winter to regroup and devise a plan of attack for the spring campaign. With honor, Gen. Matthew Pickens

Your care package was most appreciated by the men. Cpl. Doyle particularly enjoyed the straight-edged razors, which he used to give his cranium a blindingly close shave. Pvt. Hume was grateful for the jerky and hard tack - the lad eats like he’s survived a great famine. Matthew

Mother, Tonight we look to defend Ft. Tennessee against the battalion from the north in the final battle of this campaign. They are a formidable foe, but a victory would put us closer to our objective than we have ever been. We shall fight with a passion hitherto unseen.
