@JoFountain2 My friend works for an agency based in Amsterdam who designs and produces these promotions, let me know if your daughter wants to chat to her!

@MutchJessica @publicaddress @1NewsNZ How many days behind are we? Received a text this morning “due to high workload, it is still being worked on. Expect a result in 72 hours”. I got tested on Friday 18th.

@avondalenick1 @_chloeswarbrick @JeneeTibshraeny @bernardchickey PM refuses to say a fall in prices would be desirable, so I guess 30%+ increase in a year is considered sustainable now?

@WhiteLion393 @publicaddress @David_Cormack Agree with you there. My point was people can become habituated users to a substance that’s illegal to buy. Cigarettes were banned for under 16’s in 1988, yet young people still get addicted. Illegal = cool in young peoples minds

@publicaddress @David_Cormack Assume a big part is the change in packaging, health warnings, taking them off display, and cost.

@publicaddress @David_Cormack The smokefree.org.nz stats are quite encouraging. 1999: 28% year 10 students regularly smoking. 2019: 5.9% Whatever we’re doing, it’s working!

@publicaddress @David_Cormack Same could be said for weed. Kids will still get their hands on it, and only have a black market to turn to. The war on drugs was a giant failure yet we’re continuing down that path. Yes to more taxes, no to prohibition.

@WillN0tC0mply @rosecomfrey @billbennettnz @caffeine_addict Even if you tally up every reported adverse event, myocardial infarction etc, total numbers pail in comparison to what deaths would have been with no vaccine. Interested to see what information you can share on the matter

@captincool @rosecomfrey @billbennettnz @caffeine_addict Who says any amount of deaths is acceptable? The point was the comparison to RSV isn’t that strong given the numbers

@rosecomfrey @billbennettnz @caffeine_addict RSV kills 55k - 200k per year worldwide. Covid has killed 5.2m in less than 2 years. Admittedly older demographic but 50% of deaths are under 75. How is 5 million dead an overestimation?

@richardastonson @CarlinArcher @jont14 @bernardchickey Fair point. In the argument for mandates though, transmission isn’t the only factor. Clogging up hospitals, death etc also important.

@richardastonson @CarlinArcher @jont14 @bernardchickey If vaccinated people are less likely to catch it in the first place, then that also reduces overall transmission. This study raises questions if viral load is any different between vaccinated and non-vaccinated people. Only one part of transmission.
