We just received court papers from the Minister of Police with instructions that we must be interdicted from Marching and we must not be allowed to organise a March, picket, motorcade or stage any of them, on top of that we must not go to a Home Affairs Department! On Friday we are in Court and we ask all Patriots who can make it to please support us against the Minister of Police and the President, that are abusing power and using the courts to strip us of our democratic right to Protest 🙏🏻🇿🇦

You are deliberately being dense. Nobody is talking about forcing people to eat halal or kosher food. We are talking about halal certification becoming a potential barrier to entry for businesses, particularly when it comes to supplying food to government institutions, securing tenders, and operating in certain spaces. The businesses that do not serve halal food are being unfairly disadvantaged and excluded from opportunities. Freedom of religion includes the freedom not to practise a religion, and that should not become an economic disadvantage. Stop reducing a discussion about economic access and procurement to a conversation about what people choose to eat.

No one forces people to eat Halaal or Kosher foods. Woolworths stocks Halaal meat for a reason - there is a market for it. Checkers sells Yahrzeit candles - the ones that last all night that Jewish people use to remember their dead loved ones. Let us celebrate our diversity - go

Makhosi Sthembi Speaks @MakhosiSthembi

For those who are wondering why the #Halaal topic is such a big deal not only regarding the food you eat, but also on job creation here is a summary of The Khayelitsha District Hospital catering tender in the Western Cape and why it matters: The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness advertised a three-year catering contract, with a closing date of 13 February 2026. The tender required the successful contractor to apply for Halaal certification within two weeks of occupying the hospital premises. It also specified Halaal requirements for meals prepared for Muslim patients. This prompted a public dispute as the Khayelitsha Caterers Forum argued that compulsory certification could exclude local businesses and raised concerns about religious freedom and fairness. More so, when more than 90% of the community served was non-Muslim. The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness said its responsibility was to provide safe, dignified and appropriate care, including meals meeting diverse dietary, medical and religious requirements. But, how is only offering one dietary requirement diverse? It doesn't make sense. The Muslim Judicial Council Halaal Trust argued that Halaal certification is a food-preparation and handling standard that enables Muslim patients to eat hospital meals; it does not require non-Muslims to adopt Islam. But, no one said that it does make anyone Muslim who isn't. The argument is that it violates our religious rights and is being shoved down our throats because no one is offered alternatives. We are asked if we want vegan or non vegan meals. No one asks if we want Halaal or non halaal. The constitutional concern with this whole #Halaal certification is that non Muslims are not being given alternatives because of their sincerely held beliefs. It's Halaal or nothing else. No one asks the patients at Khayelitsha hospital if they want it or would prefer non halaal. The decision is made for them ...for us. The other issue is on businesses, especially small businesses. They lose these life changing opportunities because of a certificate and a practice that for the majority goes against their own religious beliefs. In our country with such high unemployment why is that being allowed? Why not have a separate caterer for the small Muslim population and then allow the small businesses to handle the rest? Everyone wins in that case. People need the jobs and business opportunities and this practice is contributing to the high unemployment in our country.

Bronkhorspruit water - A timeline of lies and incompetence. 23 Sept - The last dose of chlorine was used in the treatment plant according to official logs. After a few days, the water coming out the plant is no longer drinkable. No one says anything. Beginning of October people are getting sick. 7 - 18 Oct - more and more cases are reported of people getting ill. Many children. Department of Health asks Department of Water to investigate. DWS traces it to Tshwane's Treatment plant. 15 Oct - DWS calls the Mayor and MMC for Water to a meeting after they find out there's no chlorine at the plant. Neither Mayor nor MMC attend. DWS inform city there's been no chlorine since September 16 Oct - Mayor visits plant ansld says they ran out of chlorine a week ago. (A lie, DWS told her office the day before it had been 3 weeks). She issues apologies for the inconvenience. Deploys tankers and officially says the water is not safe. 19 Oct - Press conference reveals all. For three weeks they didnt treat water with chlorine and didnt tell anyone.
