Yea. But because music is subjective, what I think of as slop human music might be wildly popular with some other people. There's also reasons why human made slop avoids the attention, first it takes more time to make so there's less volume of it. And AI is a hot topic, with plenty of people ready to label anything made with AI as slop without consideration of artistic merits. If someone believes 100% of generative AI music is slop, it's easy for them to justify a desire to ban 100% of it.

Well put. I am lucky if I can make one good song a week, and that requires inspiration and that's not always forthcoming. I'd say I "publish" (on Suno) 3-4 songs a month, with fewer than half of those even being considered for putting up on Spotify. In many ways those are second-pass demos. We are the first filter on what goes out, and I can honestly say I love every song I've put on Spotify.

I have to agree about the slop farms ruining it for the rest of us. Hopefully anyone who hears my songs doesn't think they're slop, though some people think [AI = slop] and anything made with AI is fruit of the poisoned tree. I disagree that it's all slop but I'm biased. I think music as a form of expression can be channeled through AI, and those of us who curate our output just have to hold steady. I don't actually know why people would even generate slop music; I don't get what the purpose is. I'm not saying they don't, I just don't understand what they get out of it.

Well put. I appreciate discussion and debate. The main problem I see is that a lot of people show up having very closed-minded positions around the topic of generative AI. "Anything made with AI is BAD." is the position many take. To borrow an analogy someone else used, that's like saying any cake that isn't baked in your own oven is bad which is a false assumption. While there is a lot of slop out there, there's also some quality expression that happens to use AI as the tool.

Very nice! What's your initial read on the v6/v6-wild models? I've been a bit frustrated, if feels like the old wiggle-room tightened up, so one gen or 10 gens gives basically one version. It's possible I'm not using it right, so the experimentation continues. Regardless, cool song!

@T3X4N_ Love this! I have a tendency to put political commentary into a few of my songs as well, so this is right up my alley. The video is wonderful too, love the Biblical reference, history, Schoolhouse Rock feel, etc. Really impressive.

@CarloSaybay There were some amazing tunes that came out of the 80's and this one is iconic. It's really a unique piece, and I love good unique music.

@azukichan_ai_ これは本当に素晴らしいですね！ I've been experimenting with creating videos, and the need to do multiple generations of a clip, then editing the clips together, makes it a very time consuming thing. I like the idea of better tools coming soon.

@SeferKahraman4 A wonderful song off an amazing album. This was one of the best albums of the 00's.

I was lucky enough to see them live back in 2022. They played the entire Hunting High and Low album content, and some additional favorites. (I've Been Losing You, The Living Daylights) I got my tickets off @StubHub and the person I bought from didn't upload my tickets, so on the morning of the show I called support in a panic and to their credit, they looked and saw the tickets hadn't been sent, then swapped my order to another seller and I ended up going from Silver to Gold tickets for no extra cost.

@OVRtheReality If this video is all in-engine, this is pretty amazing! The details on the patchy grass, textures, and tree density is very slick. Once more of these types of technologies can be pulled into games, the more realistic the environments will become.
