TikToker Catches Goodwill Selling T.J. Maxx Teapot For More Than Its Original Price braderstakei.com/497i2Hs
@GeorgeTakei Goodwill is for profit and not a charity organization, unlike Salvation Army and St. Vincent DePaul, for example. Their name is intentionally misleading.
@GeorgeTakei I was in an antique mall. Someone was selling a cute Disney bag I liked. $5.00. Looked at the bottom and there was a Goodwill price tag for $1.00.
@GeorgeTakei Value Village does this all the time!
@GeorgeTakei Not-so-fun fact: you know how Goodwill brags about hiring disabled workers? They usually pay them far less than the minimum wage because the law lets businesses pay disabled folks less. Sometimes they might make a dollar or two an hour. Just something to think about.
@GeorgeTakei Well, OK. But where's the scandal? TJM set a price. Someone paid it. The item ended up at Goodwill and Goodwill set a price. So what?
@GeorgeTakei Happens all the time! I don’t shop there any longer.
@GeorgeTakei This is the new Goodwill. TJMaxx, Target, Walmart, Khols- I've seen items from all those stores being sold for more than the original price at Goodwills in my area. Used, scratched to hell DVDs for twice the price of new. #Goodwill is more expensive than the mall. @GoodwillIntl
