Yesterday was a remarkable day. It was not about Yale Law School. It was about the future of legal education and our profession. It’s a moment to step back and think hard about what we are doing. law.yale.edu/yls-today/news…
@GerkenHeather @UnderSecKvaal What is this nonsense, James?justice.gov/opa/pr/justice… The idea was to STOP OPPOSING STUDENT LOAN BORROWERS in bankruptcy court, so they'd be treated the same as all other borrowers. This is not that. Undue hardship assessment remains in tact. This is a betrayal.
@GerkenHeather @AWeissmann_ Law professionals continue to get pissed on by trump and his shenanigans. Most people have lost respect for the profession and justice in this country. When will someone do something?
@GerkenHeather I think this is a great decision. Let’s stop allowing these fraudulent and questionable “rankings” to shape our collective view of law schools. Rather, quality of the faculty, location, fit, and so many other factors are much more relevant. I applaud Yale for taking a stand.
@GerkenHeather Thank you, Dean @GerkenHeather, for your commitment to training lawyers to use their talents for the public good.
@GerkenHeather YLS charged tuition as, and students paid for a #1 ranking. Now what's a "NR" ranking (Not Ranked) worth?📉 Bait & switch. Where's my refund?
@GerkenHeather @marinklevy I don't know. It sort of has the feel of a football team running out the clock to preserve its lead.
@GerkenHeather Excellent decision. I hope more universities refuse to submit to USA Today's fraudulent rankings. Testing distorts the purpose of education; many don't know that standardized testing has its origins in the eugenics movement
