No one tells you that “bouncing back” is a myth. Your hips are wider because they made room for a soul. Your stomach is softer because it was someone’s first home. Your breasts changed because they kept a human alive. That’s not damage. Your body didn’t fail. It evolved. Mothers aren’t ruined. We’re rebuilt. ❤️

@_shakenya you are a big disappointment to this country. How can SHA not work in a whole county (Homa Bay County)?? A sick woman has to travel everyday to Kisii for treatment?

One time I missed my period. I panicked. I told him. He was quiet. Then he said, “So what are you going to do?” I said, “WE? What are we going to do?” He replied, “I’m not ready to be a father.” Okay. But the funny part is, this is the same man who was always saying: “I want a baby with you.” “You’d be a good mother.” “I want to put a baby in you.” So you want to put it in… but you don’t want to take care of it? I went to the clinic. Turns out it was stress. When I told him I wasn’t pregnant, he was suddenly happy. He even said, “Thank God.” I stared at him. Then I smiled. Because that day I realized, some men don’t love you. They love the benefits of you. And the moment responsibility shows up, they start acting like victims. I left him shortly after. Not because of the scare… but because I saw the future and it looked like single motherhood.

I’m glad my mind doesn’t race and dump on me at night like this anymore. I learned how to focus on things that mattered. A good nights sleep is a great brag and accomplishment.
